Greetings from the English corner – A visit to our school library

Students from class 8d enjoyed an extra lesson of reading English literature in the English corner of our new school library. Instead of a boring replacement lesson watching another deadly dull video and getting tired soon, we met many interesting characters, settings and some of the finest examples of the most well-known world literature like Zorro by Johnston McCully, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, Black Beauty by Anna Sewell, Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie, Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, the Happy Prince and The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde or King Arthur retold by George Gibson, just to name a few of them. We had fun and could relax at the same time. At the end of the lesson we told our friends about the new stories we had read and what we liked best about the new books which were also illustrated with masterpieces of painting. So, we gave feedback “in English – of course!” Many greetings from the English corner from class 8d & Mrs Riedel.
